AAUW Minneapolis

Madeleine was in Minneapolis giving a talk at the local AAUW chapter, where her Aunt Julie is a member. The AAUW is a political organization with the goal of advancing equity for  women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. It was so great to have her family present to hear her talk about her research and have such an engaged crowd of women, many of which were cancer patients themselves.

Cambridge Science festival 2017

The Koch Institute featured a mini-golf course this year for the Cambridge Science Festival with the goal of putt-ing cancer in its place. The course featured 9 holes on various aspects of KI research including two on metastasis. The one on the left featured local invasion through the extracellular matrix to the blood vessel (by the Hynes lab) and the one on the right represented dissemination throughout the vasculature and eventual colonization of secondary organs. We had a great time!
